The LA Lakers haven’t made it to the playoffs for the last five seasons and their fans have gone accustomed to them losing. However, Lakers fans got their hopes up this season after the basketball franchise signed Lebron James, arguably the best player in the NBA.
Things haven’t gone well for the Lakers even with the addition of Lebron James as the team has lost more games than they have won and now have a 30-33 record. There is a very small chance for the Lakers to qualify for the playoffs and only the most optimistic fans believe that the Lakers can make it, given their poor run this season.
There are a lot of disappointed Lakers fans across the world. Should the Lakers fail to make the playoffs, it will be the first time since the 2004-05 season that Lebron will not be playing a role in the playoffs and that is going to disappoint not just fans of the Lakers but basketball fans in general as they all want to see King Lebron work his magic.
Rapper Snoop Dogg who is a long-time supporter of the LA Lakers is one of the most high-profile supporters who is really upset with his team. Snoop said that fans were sick of the Lakers making false promises of turning things around, winning one game and then losing the next two in a row.
The Lakers now sit in 10th place on the Western Conference points table and it is highly unlikely that they will make the playoffs. Snoop knows this and in a highly disappointed outburst claimed that he was willing to give up his box office seats at the Staples Center for the rest of the season for just $5.
Snoop Dogg let out steam in a foul mouthed video (below) where he trashed the entire team and called them a bunch of goofballs. The only player that did not receive flak was LeBron James as Snoop says James needs more support from his team for the Lakers to perform.
The rapper also said it was time for Luke Walton, the head coach of the Lakers to get the boot and for new talent to be brought in next season. Given the fact that the Lakers will fail to make the playoffs, it is quite possible that Snoop Dogg will see a number of players and even the head coach get their walking papers.
