Free agent Antonio Brown’s NFL suspension period will come to an end after Week 8 and a number of NFL teams are expressing interest in signing the 32 year old wide receiver. Some of the teams that are keen on securing Brown include the Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans.
The team that appears to be the most interested in Brown as of now are the Seattle Seahawks but they are yet to open lines of discussion with Brown. Seattle quarterbacks Geno Smith and MVP candidate Russell Wilson appear keen on getting Brown into the team. The duo are friends with Brown and have spent some of the offseason working out together.

Seattle already has a strong offensive line-up and will become even more potent if they could sign Brown. Given that Smith and Wilson have a good relationship with Brown, the owners are keen to get this deal done provided they can work through all of the controversies surrounding Brown.
Seattle will most likely need to launch an internal investigation into Brown just to clear things up from their side before signing him up. Whether that will be a formality or if it will be taken seriously is not clear but the last thing Seattle will want is to sign the controversial player and then face another incident that could hurt the team and players.
The NFL decided to suspend Antonio Brown in July for a period of 8 games without pay. The suspension came about as Brown had multiple violations of the NFL’s policy regarding personal conduct. Brown was accused of committing sexual misconduct in 2017 to an artist who visited his home.
On top of the sexual misconduct charge, Brown also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour charges in Jan and later a battery charge and felony burglary in June 2020. The NFL took all of this into consideration, suspended him without pay and asked him to go for treatment and attend counselling sessions.
The NFL is in the process of carrying out its own investigation after another sexual misconduct charge against Brown was made by his ex-trainer. The NFL has informed Brown that any more violations would bring about more stringent disciplinary action. Brown’s agent Ed Wasielewski has confirmed that his client is ready to put his past behind him and focus on the NFL season.
