We take a look at the betting odds for three exciting fights on this card and give you our expert prediction.
Kamaru Usman vs. Jorge Masvidal
The first time Usman defended his welterweight title against Masvidal it was a one sided affair and Usman won by unanimous decision after taking all 5 rounds. Masvidal chided Usman after the fight for not being able to finish him, given the fact that he took the fight on five days’ notice, had a bad weight cut and no training camp.
The champ wants to silence Masvidal for good and is giving him another crack at gold. Usman is the favorite with odds of -390 to Masvidal’s +325. Masvidal has had a full training camp this time around and we will have to wait and see if his takedown defence is good enough to stop Usman from dominating him on the ground once again.
Weili Zhang vs. Rose Namajunas
UFC strawweight champ Weili Zhang will defend her belt against ex-champ Rose Namajunas. Zhang is a beast on her feet and on the ground but she is up against a fighter who is taller than her and has the better reach. Indian Bookmakers have Zhang as the favorite with odds of -210 while Rose has odds of +180.
Rose has already revealed her game plan to victory as she wants to take Zhang down and choke her out. Will she be able to impose that game plan is the big question?
Valentina Shevchenko vs. Jessica Andrade
Valentina Shevchenko has dominated the flyweight division and this could be her biggest test till date when she takes on Jessica Andrade who is a power puncher. Bookmakers have Shevchenko as the heavy favorite with odds of -375 while Andrade is at +310.
Shevchenko is a great striker but she is also a complete MMA fighter. We expect her to look to take Andrade to the ground and finish her by submission.
Some of the other great fights on the card include Uriah Hall (-110) vs. Chris Weidman (-110) and Anthony Smith (+170) vs. Jimmy Crute (195).
