Israel Adesanya vs. Marvin Vettori 2 – middleweight
The Main Event will see Israel Adesanya put his UFC middleweight belt on the line against Italian Marvin Vettori. The first time these two fighters went at it was in April 2018 at the Gila River Arena and they return to the same arena for a rematch. Adesanya won the first fight by split decision and Vettori has claimed all along that he was robbed of the win by the judges.
Adesanya is the betting favorite with odds of (1.37) while Vettori has odds of 3.25.
We think this fight is going to be a lot closer and Vettori does have a strong chance of winning, given that Adesanya was dominated on the ground during his last fight at lightheavyweight. Vettori is a wrestler and will look to take down the champ and see if he can finish the fight without going to the judges.
Figueiredo vs. Moreno 2 – middleweight
The second title fight on the card is also a rematch between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno. The two fought in December 2020 in what was one of the most talked about scraps in 2020.
The fight ended in a draw and the champ Figueiredo retained his belt.
He goes in as the favorite with odds of (1.44) while Moreno has odds of (2.90).
We think Figueiredo’s power is going to be a bit too much for Moreno to handle and the champ will retain his belt.
Some of the other exciting fights on this card include Paul Craig vs. Jamahal Hill, Drew Dober vs. Brad Riddell and Lauren Murphy vs. Joanne Calderwood.
Edwards vs. Diaz
Brit Leon Edwards faces his toughest test when he takes on veteran Nate Diaz. Edwards is a massive betting favorite with odds of (1.18) while Diaz has odds of (5.00). Both are great fighters but Edwards is the younger of the two and is one a winning streak.
We think Edwards will win this fight and push for a title shot next.
