Bad Blood Set To Spill This Weekend In Alvarez vs. GGG Rematch September 11, 2018 Adrian Sterne https://plus.google.com/u/0/107032931670136448831

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez-vs Gennady GolovkinBoxing fans were thrilled to see two of the top middleweights in the world finally clash during September 2017 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Gennady Golovkin popularly referred to as GGG faced off against Mexico’s Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and went the distance fighting 12 hard rounds.

Many believed that GGG had won that fight as he had landed more punches but another section gave it to Canelo as he threw the more flashy punches. The judges surprised everyone including the boxers and called it a draw.

GGG wanted a re-match and the feeling was mutual. The re-match was scheduled to take place in May 2018 but had to be cancelled a few weeks out as Canelo failed a drug test on two separate occasions. His team put it down to him eating contaminated meat in Mexico but the boxing commission suspended him for 6 months and the fight was cancelled.

GGG Fires Shots Outside The Ring

GGG did not take well to the cancellation or to the fact that Canelo’s camp was making excuses for his failed drug tests. The first fight between the two boxers had them both showing respect and cordiality but that all went out of the window with Canelo testing positive.

GGG admitted that he had lost all respect for his opponent and said Canelo Alvarez was not the biggest name in boxing but the biggest scandal for certain. GGG who will defend his WBA (Super), WBC, IBO and IBF middleweight belts once again says he has a lot of anger against Canelo and his team and which has pushed him to work harder and find new methods to up his fight game.

Canelo Says No More Cordiality

The drug that Canelo tested positive for was clenbuterol which is used for waiting cutting. Recent pictures floating around of Canelo show him much leaner than the first fight and it remains to be seen if Canelo still has the same power and cardio as he did in the first fight.

In a statement, Canelo said

No doubt this will be a better fight. The desire to tear his head off is so big, and it will be much better. I don't like to talk too much. Obviously, I get mad, but I can control myself when it's time to box. That's why there will be no more cordiality
