The richest T20 cricket tournament in the world is down to its final week. The IPL playoffs will start with Qualifier 1 where the Mumbai Indians will take on the Delhi Capitals.
However, the match that is getting a lot more attention is the Eliminator on Nov 7 that sees Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) takes on the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Sunrisers Hyderabad started IPL 2020 as one of the favorites to win the tournament.
Bookmakers had SRH as one of the top three teams but their odds quickly dwindled as they did not play to potential. SRH should not have made the playoffs but some blunders by the Kolkata Knight Riders and a depleted Mumbai Indians line up in the final group game allowed SRH to sneak in.

Their suddenly entry into the playoffs has gone down well with the bookmakers who have SRH (4/5) as the favorites going into the Eliminator against RCB (1/1). SRH go in as the favorites because they have the momentum going their way after beating defending champions Mumbai Indians convincingly on Nov 3 by 10 wickets.
Keys To Victory: SRH are in the playoffs because their captain David Warner played a fantastic knock against the Mumbai Indians. Warner is without doubt the main key to victory for SRH. If RCB get him out cheaply, they will definitely be on top. The second key to victory is how much the SRH middle order can contribute. The final key to victory is whether their bowlers can keep the likes of Kohli and AB Devilliers quiet and restrict them to a score below 170.
RCB should be the betting favorites as they have a much better side on paper. However, RCB have struggled to win big games in the history of the IPL and this could work against them during the Eliminator. It will be up to Captain Virat Kohli to show courage and mental strength and inspire the rest of the team.
Kohli is a big match player and if he gets going, RCB will most likely win. In the bowling department, they will need Washington Sundar to keep the breaks on Warner and co and Chris Morris to bowl well at the death.
Our Verdict: We think SRH will get the better of RCB and book a place in Qualifier 2.
