The batting order, field placements and rotation of bowlers for both teams is going to play a crucial role in the final outcome of this game. KKR have had to rely on the brilliance of one or two of their players to win their last few games while CSK has won because of a team effort.
Bookmakers currently have both sides tied at odds of 1.90 going into the IPL final.
Chennai Super Kings
Current Odds: 9/10
CSK has had a much more comfortable journey in reaching the IPL finals than KKR. CSK have played fantastic cricket throughout the IPL be it during the first phase in India or the second phase in the UAE.
They won Qualifier 1 against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and were waiting to see who they would face in the finals.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Current Odds: 9/10
KKR have fought hard and made it count in crucial moments to book themselves a spot in the final. They almost lost Qualifier 2 against DC on Oct 13 but managed to get through in the final over. KKR have won two IPL championships in the history of the competition with the last coming in 2014 so far while CSK has won it thrice.
Our experts feel that the outcome of the 2021 IPL final could very well rest on the captaincy skills of MS Dhoni and Eoin Morgan. MSD has captained CSK throughout the history of the IPL and has immense experience of playing in high pressure situations and winning. That is going to bode well for CSK as there is a lot of money at stake for both teams.
Morgan isn’t as experienced as Dhoni but he does captain England in the shorter format of the game. Morgan has failed badly with the bat during the 2021 IPL but his leadership skills are one of the reasons why KKR are in the finals.
We are going to back CSK to win their fourth IPL Championship on Oct 15. We believe that CSK have their noses in front because they have been a lot more consistent and have the confidence to win going into Friday’s final.
