Triller Fight Club has confirmed that Evander Holyfield has agreed to step in as a replacement for Oscar De Lay Hoya who was scheduled to fight former UFC light heavyweight champ Vitor Belfort.
De La Hoya and Belfort were scheduled to fight on Sep 11 in at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California but De La Hoya had to pull out after contracting COVID-19. Triller did not have a lot of time to find a suitable opponent and called on former heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield who was more than willing to step up.

The California State Athletic Commission was not willing to sanction the fight as they felt the notice was too short for the 58 year old Holyfield to step in and fight the 44 year old Belfort. As a result, Triller decided to move this fight card to Florida as they were willing to give Holyfield his license to fight.
The fight will now take place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood on Sep 11. Betonline have Belfort as the betting favorite with odds of -105 and Holyfield as the betting underdog with odds of -125. This fight will have a total of 8 x 2 minute rounds.
Boxing fans are beginning to see a lot more fights where professional boxers are now taking on MMA fights, specifically ex-UFC fighters. This marketing model works well for Triller as it is tapping into the boxing and MMA markets.
Holyfield needs no introduction as even MMA fans are aware of his accomplishments in the ring. Vitor Belfort might need an introduction to boxing fans that don’t follow MMA. Belfort was unstoppable in the UFC pre-USADA but once drug testing was brought in, his career went downhill.
Belfort once again looks jacked and a lot of fans believe he is once again on the juice. Holyfield is still going to be a big challenge for the Brazilian and we think Holyfield will win!
Triller has put together another exciting fight on the same card. Two former UFC champions are set to fight in the boxing ring. Anderson Silva widely regarded as one of the best UFC middleweight champions and Tito Ortiz who is a former UFC lightheavy weight champion will test their skills at a 195 pound catch weight fight. We think Silva should win this one!
