Brooklyn Nets depend heavily on their big three to win them games. Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden have played well together which is one of the reasons why the Nets are one of the favorites to win the NBA Championship. However, the Nets who are +165 are going to have to try and win Game 5 without their big three.
This is because Irving and Harden are set to miss Game 5 due to injury. Kyrie Irving suffered an ankle injury during Game 4 and an MRI has shown that nothing is broken. The ankle sprain is going to keep him out of Game 5 and the Nets are hoping that he will be fit to play in Game 6.
Harden who suffered a hamstring injury in Game 1 is out and there is no indication as to when he will return. Nets coach Steve Nash said that they did not want to rush Harden back and risk him suffering a more serious injury.
The Bucks who are priced at -185 know that this is a great opportunity for them to take advantage of the absence of Harden and Irving and go 3-2 up.
The Nets are going to depend heavily on Kevin Durant to raise his game and help them not just win Game 5 but win the series against the Bucks. Durant has played 5 games during this season without Harden and Irving and has stepped up his game. During these 5 games, Durant has averaged close to 34 points per game with a 63 percent scoring rate from the floor.
The Nets ended up winning 4 out of these 5 games and won by an average of 9.4 points, thanks to a great performance by Kevin Durant. Will the All-Star be able to shine again in Game 5? We will have to wait and see.
