We take a look at the betting odds for some of the exciting fights that are on this fight card.
* Odds have been provided by Betonline and are accurate as of 19/01/2021
UFC – Ultimate Fighting Championship
The first time these two fighters fought was at UFC 178 in September 2014. McGregor stopped Poirier in the first round and is very confident that the second fight will end in the same way. McGregor (-305) has predicted that he will KO Poirier (+255) within 60 seconds of the first round.
While Poirier is a huge underdog, it would be foolish to write him off. The first time these two clashed was at featherweight, they are now fighting at lightweight. Both fighters have improved significantly since then and this time around Poirier is ranked number one in the lightweight division and McGregor is ranked number 4.
Rankings don’t mean much when McGregor fights. He is focused and is keen on getting the UFC lightweight belt back. The winner of this fight will likely fight for the belt next.
The co-main event will see Kiwi Dan Hooker (-130) take on three time Bellator champ Michael Chandler (+110) who will make his UFC debut on Sunday. Hooker is a great striker while Chandler is a great wrestler. If Hooker is able to keep Chandler from taking him down, things will favour Hooker as he is the better striker.
However, Hooker is confident of his ground game and believes that he can also submit Chandler at his own game. We would put our money on Hooker.
There are a number of other exciting fights on the early prelims as well as the prelims and main card. The fight to watch out for on the early prelims is Andrew Sanchez (+115) vs. Makhmud Muradov (-135).
When it comes to the prelims, the most exciting fight should be the one between Arman Tsarukyan (-260) vs. Nasrat Haqparast (+220).
Apart from the main event and co-main event, the fight that we are looking forward to on the main card is Moroccan knockout specialist Ottman Azaitar (-155) who is undefeated. Azaitar will fight Matt Frevola (+135).
