Charles Oliveira vs. Justin Gaethje
Charles Oliveira, the UFC lightweight champ will defend his belt against Justin ‘The Highlight’ Gaethje who has a habit of winning Fight of the Night or Performance of the Night awards. If this fight plays out standing up, expect this to be a barn burner as Gaethje is one of the best strikers in the lightweight division and the champ has shown that he can hold his own in the striking department.
However, we don’t expect Oliveira to stand and bang with Gaethje. Oliveira is a BJJ specialist who has the most submission wins in UFC history. We believe he will look to get Gaethje to the ground and submit him just as former champ Khabib Nurmagomedov did to Gaethje when they fought for the belt.
Gaethje is no slouch in the wrestling department but there are levels to this game and Oliveira is on another level. If Gaethje can stop the takedowns, he will have a better chance of winning but our money is going to be on the champ Oliveira.
Current odds: Charles Oliveira (-175) / Justin Gaethje (+145)
The people’s Main Event will see Michael Chandler (-425) take on Tony Ferguson (+315) who is a crowd favorite. Some of the other fights to watch out for include Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone (-175) vs. Joe Lauzon (+142) and Randy Brown (EVENS) vs. Kalinn ‘Khaos’ Williams (-122).
Rose Namanajunas vs. Carla Esparza 2
The first time Rose Namanajunas and Carla Esparza fought was back in 2014 and Esparza got the better of Rose by using her superior wrestling skills. A lot has changed for both fighters during the last 8 years as Thug Rose is now the strawweight champ and a more rounded fighter.
Esparza is no doubt going to test the take down defence and wrestling ability of Namanajunas. If the fight remains standing, Namanajunas should win easily. However, if Namanajunas gets taken down, Esparza will be able to accumulate points and push for a decision win.
Current odds: Rose Namanajunas (-220) / Carla Esparza (+171)
