UFC Fight Night 182 on November 14 at the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas was supposed to be headlined by former UFC lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos (RDA) vs. Islam Makhachev.
This was going to be a great opportunity for Makhachev who is UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin to shine as this was the first UFC Main Event for the Dagestani fighter.
Makachev was earlier expected to fight at Fight Island on the same card as Khabib Nurmagomedov and face RDA but RDA pulled out after testing positive for COVID-19. The fight was rescheduled to Nov 14 but this time around it was Makachev who pulled out citing personal reasons.
Given the fact that this was a Main Event fight, the UFC started looking for a replacement. RDA called out Michael Chandler who declined to fight saying that there was too little time for him to make 155 lbs. The man that did step up to take the fight was Paul Felder.

Felder’s last fight was back in Feb 2020 when he lost to Dan Hooker by decision. The Irish dragon went on record to state that he was considering retirement and would only return to the Octagon if the UFC offered him a big fight. It appears that RDA was a big enough fight for Felder to be willing to make the weight on 5 days’ notice.
RDA is coming down to lightweight after fighting at welterweight for sometime. His last fight was back in Jan 2020 when he took on Michael Chiesa at welterweight and ended up losing by decision.
The weight cut for both fighters is going to be interesting as RDA is coming down from 170 and Felder who generally weights around 170 plus is trying to make 155 in just 5 days.
Current odds: Paul Felder (+145) / Rafael Dos Anjos (-170)
The co-main event will see the exciting Abdul Razak Alhassan (-230) return after suffering a rare defeat in July. He will have a tough challenge ahead of him as he faces Kalinn Williams (+195) who has a 10-1 record.
Some of the other fights to watch out for on this card include Julian Marquez (-270) take on Saparbek Safarov (+230) at middleweight, Eryk Anders (-140) vs. Antonio Arryo (+120), Kay Hansen (-225) vs. Cory Mckenna (+190) at strawweight and Alex Morono (-183) take on Rhys McKee (+158) at welterweight.
