Holly Holm vs. Ketlen Vieira
Holm has a very tough opponent in her return fight as she is scheduled to take on Brazilian Ketlen Vieira in a 5 round Main Event. There’s a lot on the line for both fighters as the winner could very well be in line to face the UFC bantamweight champion once champ Julianna Pena and former champ Amanda Nunes finish their rematch.
Holm is ranked number 2 on the UFC bantamweight list and a finish or a dominant performance against Vieira will guarantee her a championship shot. Holm is 40 years old and wants one more crack at the championship before she calls it quits on her UFC career. The Preachers Daughter has admitted that she is keen on stepping back into the boxing ring before she retires from professional fighting.
Vieira is currently ranked in 5th place and a win over the number 2 ranked fighter will strengthen her case to call for a championship fight, especially if she can finish Holm. This has all the makings to be a great Main Event as both fighters like to stand and trade.
Current odds: Holly Holm (-230) / Ketlen Vieira (+185)
Some of the other interesting fights on this card include Polyana Viana (-103) vs. Tabatha Ricci (-121) in the women’s strawweight division and a middleweight fight between Eryk Anders (+170) and Park Jun-yong (-210) .
Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Michel Pereira
The co-Main event has the potential to end up with either a performance of the night or fight of the night award. Argentinean Santiago Ponzinibbio will fight the always entertaining Brazilian Michel Pereira. These two fighters have loads of experience under their belt and both fighters have great hands.
This will arguably be the toughest test for Pereira who has shown some great improvement in his last few fights. While both fighters have KO power, we expect this fight to go the distance and believe the smarter fighter will win by decision.
Current odds: Santiago Ponzinibbio (EVENS) / Michel Pereira (-120)
