The richest domestic T20 league in the world has completed just about two weeks of action and sportsbooks have reported a significant increase in cricket betting action. The 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) has provided non-stop T20 action from April 9 and fans have been entertained because a number of weak teams have played really well and some of the stronger teams have struggled.

Delhi Capitals were dealt a big blow before the IPL started as their captain and key middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer was sidelined due to injury. The owners decided to give Rishabh Pant the captaincy and he has responded very well to the additional responsibility and the team have also backed him. The Capitals sit in second place having played 4 games, winning 3 and losing 1.
Sportsbooks did not rank the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the top 3 teams that were expected to win IPL 2021 because of their poor performance in 2020. CSK started with a loss but bounced back quickly to win their next two games and climb to number 3 on the IPL points table. CSK looks like they have found the playing XI they want to work with going forward and can be a big threat once again.
The Mumbai Indians currently sit in fourth place but will not be too concerned with their form as of now. Captain Rohit Sharma has gone on record to say that it does not matter if you lose a couple of games in the IPL, what matters is whether you win the IPL final.
However, Mumbai’s poor start to IPL 2021 will give other IPL franchises the confidence that they can not only defeat the Mumbai Indians but go on to become the new IPL champions. If you are betting on the IPL, you should look at betting on either RCB or DC to win IPL 2021.
