When it comes to Formula One legends, it hardly gets any bigger than Michael Schumacher. F1 fans were devastated when they learnt of Schumacher’s accident during a freak skiing accident in the Swiss Alps in December 2013.
Since then, the German F1 pro has been bed ridden and kept out of the public eye but his name continues to make headlines each year as fans wait for good news and an update on his condition.
Michael Schumacher will never race in F1 again but it looks like his son is going to continue his legacy. Mick Schumacher has been making heads turn on the F2 circuit and got the attention of racing fans after winning the F2 Championship last season. Mick is now ready to step up another level and join Formula One.
The rookie will be joining Haas and partnering up with Russian racer Nikita Mazepin. Haas will look to test the F1 circuit this season with this new pairing as they have let go of Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen.
The 21 year old has big shoes to fill as his father won 7 F1 Championships and currently holds the record of most number of F1 Championships along with Lewis Hamilton who will look to break that record this season.

While a lot of kids who have famous parents struggle with the pressure and expectation that the public have of them, Mick Schumacher is not one of them. If he is feeling any pressure, he is handling it pretty well.
Mick said that he has never felt that the Schumacher name added pressure on him to perform. He said he was very happy to represent his family name in F1 once again and looked forward to representing Haas in 2021. The 21 year old said he used his family name as motivation to work hard and pave his own path in F1.
Mick Schumacher’s initial season in F1 comes seventeen years after his father Michael won the 2004 F1 race in Bahrain. Schumacher said that while he will take inspiration from his legendary father and his performance on the F1 circuit, he will focus on his own strengths and forming a strong bond with his new team.
We will have to wait and see if Mick Schumacher can shine during his first season in Formula One!
