The online poker gaming firm, PokerStars has announced that it has acquired a remote sportsbetting license from the Irish Revenue Commissioners and this will see the firm offering sports betting services and products to Irish punters.
The parent company of PokerStars, Amaya Gaming has been looking for ways to expand its poker company and recently they added casino services to punters. In June, Pokerstars lauched a Sportbook for the UK and now with the Irish License, the gaming firm will now offer poker and casino games to Ireland as well as sports betting products.
Stephen Fisk, the PokerStars Managing Director for Sportsbetting commented on the license and said,
We are excited to have received the license for offering sport betting services in Ireland. We were offering poker and casino games but now we are offering sports betting services to players thereby showing them that we can deliver a variety of exciting games.
The sportsbetting services that will be delivered to Ireland have not yet been disclosed but PokerStars says that it will offer a variety of sports betting services that will include covering all Irish sporting activities, proving in-play bets and many more. Affiliates will also be given a limelight to advertise gaming products to Ireland on behalf of PokerStars and advertising materials will be provided soon.
