There are lots of different types of horse racing bets you can place, one of which is the Scoops6 bet which is one of the Tote’s multiple type of bets.
The aim of this bet is to pick horses with the hope that each of them win, and if they do you win or share the prize pool.
If no one manages to predict all six winners the jackpot rolls over, and this is what it has been doing for eleven weeks, and yesterday there was a massive £6.8 million in the jackpot pool available for anyone managing to predict six winning horses from races run at several race tracks in the UK.
All six of the races were broadcast live on Channel 4, and at the end of each race the presenter’s updated viewers with how many tickets were left in the pool, namely those who had so far correctly predicted the winner of each race run! The first race saw a 20 to 1 shot winning which did of course have the knock on effect of leaving just 96,188 tickets in the pool, which considering there was millions on tickets entered into the pool, before the race was run, that figure was quite amazing!
The remaining races, after being run resulted in an 8 to 1 shot winning the second leg, a 16 to 1 shot winning the third leg and a 6 to 1 shot winning the fifth leg. At the final sixth leg stage of the race there was just three tickets left in live play, which was the 4.00pm race at Thirsk.
One of these tickets had named Escape to Glory to be the winner of this race, and as the race was running it became apparent that this horse was making good head way, in fact in the final furlong Escape to Glory managed to get its head up in front, only to be beaten by a length at the winning line!
The racing team at Channel 4 commented how unlucky that punter had been, for instead of picking up the £6.8 million prize pot, that unlucky punter was instead awarded a share of the prize fund, which is paid when anyone places this bet and sees all of their selections being placed in each of the six races covered, the prize fund for reference was just £1,717.40!
This does of course mean that next week, the Sccop6 Jackpot is going to be a record breaking amount, and with the powers that be choosing only the races with the biggest fields, it remains to be seen if the jackpot is going to be won finally next week! In fact if you visit the BetFred betting site they are offering odds on the jackpot being won next week, which they did this week.
An entry into the Scoop6 will cost you £2, and if you manage to pick all of the winnings in the six races covered you not only win or share the jackpot prize pool but you will also qualify for the bonus leg of the bet, which requires you to pick the winner on a selected race, and this bonus pool is also huge, and may next Saturday the 24th of May you should consider placing one of these bets, for that jackpot is way to huge to ignore!
