Tom Brady fans will be thrilled to know that the NFL quarterback has plans to play in 2019 and is nothing about retirement just yet.
There has been a lot of speculation in recent months that the 41 year old Brady could call it a day going into 2019.
Tom Brady is NFL royalty as his list of accomplishments are phenomenal.
He has had a fantastic career in the NFL spanning a 19 year period and has spent all of that time with the New England Patriots.
In the history of the NFL, Brady is one of the two players to have won five Super Bowls in their career and the only player to have won five Super Bowls playing for the same NFL franchise.
Brady’s contract with the Patriots is set to expire after the 2019 season and it will be interesting to see if he chooses to stay on with the Patriots and finish his career with the team that he has stayed with for all these years or if he decides to switch teams and finish his final years with another franchise.

One factor that could influence this decision is the relationship between Brady and head coach Bill Belichick. The two have had a great relationship in the past but in the last couple of years have not seen eye to eye. Brady won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 2017 but his performance in 2018 hasn’t been at the same level as he has had to deal with a knee injury.
I have goals to not only play next year, but beyond that. I’m going to try to do it as best I possibly can. I’m going to give it everything I have, like I always have. It will certainly be a challenge. I don’t take any of these things for granted, but I hope I can keep playing, and I hope I can keep playing at a championship level.

Coach Bill Belichick did not provide a direct answer when he was asked about his thoughts on Brady wanting to continue to play into 2019 and beyond. He said that he wasn’t thinking about Tom Brady in 2019 or spending time worrying about what is going to happy next year. Belichick said that his focus was on the Patriots vs. Jets game which is scheduled to take place on Dec 30 and nothing else.
