Summary
- UFC Fight Night cards lacking big names
- UFC fans complain on social media about thin Fight Night cards
- Amanda Lemos vs. Jessica Andrade to Main Event April 23 card
The UFC has built a reputation for being the number one organization in mixed martial arts (MMA) and MMA fans expect a lot from the UFC.
Just about every weekend, the UFC stages a Fight Night card and once a month a pay-per-view (PPV) card.
The PPV cards usually feature one title fight and sometimes even two title fights along with a number of other exciting fights. The UFC has also spoilt fight fans in recent years by stacking its Fight Night cards and giving the fans exciting fights every weekend.
The UFC just had a smashing Fight Night card in the UK but its Fight Night cards in the United States during the last few weeks have drawn criticism from some UFC fans for being too thin.
UFC fans are complaining on social media that the recent fight night cards have lacked big names and have been rather boring. The UFC hosted a Fight Night on April 16 featuring Vincent Luque and Belal Muhammad as the Main Event and it ended up in a decision. They were the two biggest names on the card and fans felt that they did not get their money’s worth.
The UFC has another Fight Card on April 23 which is headlined by Amanda Lemos vs. Jessica Andrade. Fans know who Andrade is as she has fought for the belt before but Lemos does not have a big fan base in the UFC. While the Main Event is not going to be a big draw for this fight card, it does have a number of popular fighters including veteran Clay Guida and Maycee Barber.
The next Fight Card on April 30 also does not have a big Main Event as the card is being headlined by Rob Font vs. Marlon Vera. Fans want bigger names to headline a Fight Card but the UFC is not going to change its strategy in the next few months atleast as the Fight Cards have already been announced.
Hardcore MMA fans will not be too concerned about the weak cards as they know that some of the weak cards can produce some of the best fights to be on. The UFC is also giving some of the lesser known fighters a chance to get on the big stage and make a name for themselves!
