- Jones takes shot at Chael Sonnen and his domestic abuse allegations
MMA superstar Jon Jones is one of the top 5 biggest stars in the UFC who hasn’t fought in the promotion for the last two years.
Jones who was the UFC lightheavyweight champion, relinquished his title and promised to move up to the heavyweight division. Jones has been on the sidelines because he was unhappy with what the UFC was paying him and decided to sit out.
Jones who is usually very active on social media went quiet for the last couple of months as he had things going on in his personal life. He made one post during the last two months to inform his haters that they had reason to rejoice as Jessie Moses, his fiancé and mother of his three kids had decided to leave him and was not coming back.
Jones was arrested last year on a domestic violence complaint after he gave Moses a bloodied lip in a Las Vegas hotel room. Social media went after Jones for beating his woman and Jones went silent. Some of his fans were concerned that Jones was not doing well after the separation and might have gone back to his old ways of drinking, parting and doing drugs.
However, Jones clarified that he has been training MMA 5 days a week and believes that it is written in his destiny that he will be the next UFC heavyweight champion. Jones says he has spent the last two years imagining becoming the heavyweight champ and is eager to return but did not confirm when he plans to fight.
I’ve been imagining it for over two years now, I genuinely believe winning this heavyweight championship is in my destiny. It’s already been written. I just need to keep my nose in the dirt for now and keep working, everything else will take care of itself. https://t.co/9V41HVzpTy
