WrestleMania 34 Is A Big Success For Ronda Rousey April 13, 2018 Adrian Sterne https://plus.google.com/u/0/107032931670136448831

The WWE had a long build up to its flagship WrestleMania 34 show and stacked the card with a number of championship matches, the debut of former UFC star Ronda Rousey and the return of the legendary ‘Undertaker’.

WrestleMania 34 was a great success for the company by all standards.

There was a packed house at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans and the fans were not left disappointed as just about all the matches delivered a great mix of skill, thrill and excitement.

A number of championships changed hands during WrestleMania 34, Ronda Rousey showed that she does belong in a WWE ring and the Undertaker surprised a lot of people by defeating John Cena.

Ronda Rousey Delivers For WWE

The WWE went after the former UFC star Ronda Rousey because she has a great fan following in combat sports and the WWE was confident that it could expand its fan base by getting Rousey to sign with the WWE.

Rousey teamed up with Kurt Angle to take on Triple HHH and his wife Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34. This was officially the first time that Rousey was fighting in the WWE and she showed no signs of being flustered or having any butterflies. The crowd took to Rousey and were chanting her name along with ‘this is awesome’.

Rousey tried to finish the match by using her ‘armbar’ which she made famous in the UFC for finishing her fights. Rousey dominated Stephanie McMahon in the ring but it took as many as four armbars for Rousey and Angle to get the win.

The Dead Man Rises

The Undertaker is arguably the greatest WWE wrestler in the history of the company who generally makes one appearance a year – at WrestleMania. He took on fan favourite John Cena and to everyone’s surprise completely dominated the ‘You Cant’ See Me’ fighter. The Dead Man secured yet another win at WrestleMania and it will be interesting to see if the WWE has plans to use the Undertaker on a more frequent basis this year, considering they allowed him the win against Cena.

Brock Lesnar was at the end of his WWE contract and many expected him to lose to Roman Reigns on the night and then go on to fight in the UFC. However Lesnar went onto win the Universal Title Match and walked out with the Title – which could indicate that Lesnar might be willing to sign with the WWE again.
